Hello and welcome to a new year! I wanted to take some time at the beginning of the year to share with you my plan for this blog and what is in store for 2024. We all have big aspirations at the beginning of a new year and often without support or accountability, we slowly let those dreams fade away. I want to be transparent on this site and encouraging to you all as well. I also know that while I can make all the plans in the world, I must stay true to God’s plan and understand that He may change my planned path for the fulfillment of His purpose. We know this as it states in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (ESV).” His plans are always PERFECT and I have prayed to be spiritual led in the plans I have scribed out.
1.Chronological Bible Reading Plan
As noted in a previous post, I adapted a Chronological Bible Reading Plan for the year 2024. I also created a journal to keep track of all that I am learning from the daily readings which can be found on Amazon. Most of my reading will be in private during my own quiet time however, I do plan to share monthly recaps of what I took from the readings. On these post I encourage those of you whom are following along to add your takeaways in the comments. This way we are all learning and digging deeper into God’s word as well as having buddies to study with!
2.Jewish Feast, Celebrations, and Holy Days
One thing that I have been drawn to study more and more of is the Jewish background of the Christian faith, after all Jesus was a Jew! There is so much rich history and context that we often overlook and miss out on when we ignore the Jewishness of the Bible. It has been a personal goal of mine to study these appointed times over the past several years. I have been keeping a journal and have several resources to share that will be helpful if you wish to study as well. Later on in the year I will have a post with some background information and then as each celebration approaches I’ll create a post with more information and resources for how these days are observed and what they meant when brought up in the Bible.
3.Proverbs Challenge in May
Be on the lookout this may for a Proverbs a day challenge! This will be a free challenge in which we will be writing out one verse from each chapter in Proverbs each day of May. An extra challenge will be to write out the entire chapter that day! This will be a fun challenge to get creative with and will include printables. I’m looking forward to all the creativity that will come from this challenge and the time spent in the word!
These are the main things that I am planning to bring to site this year. Of course, there will be other exciting surprises along the way. Make sure you are subscribed so you don’t miss an update. I look forward to seeing what is in store for 2024 and hope that you grow in your faith along side me during this year!
