Proverbs a Day in May

I’ve got a fun challenge for you! For the month of May I challenge you to Proverbs a Day in May. This is a challenge that will have three parts. You can choose to do all three, or just one, or any combination that you choose. The point of the challenge is to get you in the book of Proverbs and in your Bible Daily. If you are following along with my 2024 Chronological Bible Reading Plan, participating in this challenge will give you ahead start for your June reading.

The options for Participating

  1. Read one chapter of Proverbs a day. You can use your Bible, a website on the computer, or the app on your phone. If you prefer the audio versions, that’s an option too. For the first option, it is just about reading and or listening to the proverb.
  2. Write the proverb. This is the step where we are adding some creativity into the mix. Maybe you keep a journal to write out these verses, maybe you have space in your planner to write the chapter each day, or you can create a junk journal to hold these chapters in. At the end of the challenge you will have your own handwritten version of Proverbs! You can also type out the chapters if you prefer.
  3. Create a page in your art journal. This can be paired with the writing of the proverb. Maybe it is also in one journal or it can be on a separate page. This is a chance to get extra creative and make some art associated with the chapter of Proverbs that you read and/or wrote out. What you choose to create is up to you! It can even be something that adds some decoration to your writing. This is also a good time to meditate on what your read.

My Plan

My plan for this challenge is to read the Proverb’s chapter in my Bible and then write and create in one journal. I choose the dark green because it feels like Spring and I will add a sticker to the front to label it has my challenge notebook. These notebooks are a great value for the price and offer plenty of pages to write out the entire book of Proverbs as well as space to do some creating. As to not overwhelm myself, I am going to limit my supplies to a pen, washi tape, stickers, and a few colors of highlighters.

This is the journal I am using. It is an A5 dot grid journal from Amazon.
