As it is the month of June, pride is a hot topic and one that can be sensitive. I wrote this guided study not to shame anyone or to make a comment on other views of pride, but to invite you to take a look at scripture and explore what pride is from a biblical perspective. This is something that has been written on my heart for over a year as I drafted the first version of this study last June and never finished it. I felt called to share this with you so that you can find your own understanding. This study allows you to examine the scripture and draw your own Spirit led conclusions from the texts. You will notice on the list of verses that some of them are in bold, these are the verses I plan to narrow in on and map out. You of course are free to choose the ones that you would like to focus on.
Overview
In this study we will explore the definition of pride and discover what the Bible tells us about pride. We will uncover context for a variety of verses and as lead by the Holy Spirit we will study each verse and apply it to our lives as applicable. I have set this study up so that you can open in prayer, explore the definitions, examine the verses, and then draw your own conclusions. For the verse mapping section you can print off as many verse maps as you’d like to complete. There are also some fun elements to use in your Bible Journaling! Preview below:
