Can you believe it, we are at the end of the year!? For those that followed along, you have read the entire Bible chronologically in one year. So let us dive into the final month and our last recap of the year.
The large books we spent time in is Romans, Hebrews, and Revelation, as well as some of the letters to the churches.
Romans
Romans is written by Paul and centers on the theme of the revelation of God’s judgement and saving in the gospel of Yeshua. One thing we learn in the New Testament is the spread that God is for all people, His chosen people, The Jews, and now to the rest of the world, us Gentiles. Romans continues on this idea and outlines his theology in this book.
Hebrews
Hebrews tells us how Yeshua is fully God and fully man and that is why He is able to explain the Torah so well and clarify the meaning for all believers. It shows that God’s promises are true and trustworthy, therefore the promise of eternal salvation will happen at His appointed times. Hebrews also informs us that with the accession of Yeshua, the final days have begin and we await for this next return. That being said, no one knows the hour or the day, only God.
Revelation
I’ll be honest, the book of Revelation I had avoided for a long time because I was scared of it. Yes, this book is serious and it can seem scary, but it is an important end to the Bible and something we all should read. Remember as you go through this book that God promises peace in the end and with Him you can make it through anything. Revelation reveals the unseen spiritual war between God and Satan. We know that God wins and once all these things take place then new heaven will begin.
What are you takeaways from this month’s reading and the reading plan as a whole? Do you have any plans for reading the Bible in 2025? My goal is to read it in it’s entirety once every quarter. I’ll be sharing my 2025 Bible goals in a future post.
