Purim: Esther’s Garden

Staring March 13th at sundown to sundown on March 14th, 2025, the celebration of Purim takes place. To learn more about Purim check out my post from last year describing the celebration.

Last year was my first Purim celebration and since I am not plugged into a local messianic community, I celebrated at home with family. Gathered around my table we enjoyed a festive meal together that included hamantaschen. They are surprisingly easy to make and a yummy desert food. For my gift baskets of food, I filled baskets with treats that my family enjoys. For those of us on a budget, the Dollar Tree offered great options both for the basket and the treats inside. I made my food donation through monetary contributions to a local food bank. My favorite part of the evening was sitting around the living room and reading the book of Esther together. We each took turns reading a chapter of the story and of course we booed Haman! I did not dress in costume, however I did wear my boo Haman hype squad shirt. While this was not a grand celebration, it was still a fun and simple way to partake in the traditions of Purim.

This year, I would like to propose the idea of Esther’s Garden as a theme for a Purim celebration. Think garden party with foods to match and gift baskets of homemade goodness and lots of flowers. It’s a girly girls dream celebration. I have attached a printable that showcases the mood board for Esther’s Garden, an invitation, and some Bible Journaling elements you can use in your study of Esther.

Here is your download to use in your Bible journaling and/ or party planning.

Let me know in the comments how you plan to celebrate Purim this year!
